Mukesh Chhabra: The common factor of Sushant Singh Rajput and Asif Basra

Asif Basra, known for his character roles in numerous films including "Black Friday", "Parzania", "Jab We Met" and "Kai Po Che", was found hanging with a leash of his pet dog on Thursday. While many news organizations have declared his death as suicide the police are yet to ascertain the reason for his death. 

Asif's death matches the pattern of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. No suicide note was found of either of them still it was declared a suicide. 

However, there is one thing more common in Asif and Sushant i.e. their friendly bond with film-maker Mukesh Chhabra. Mukesh was extremely close to Sushant Singh Rajput. It is known to all the people of India. He also cast Sushant in his Directorial debut 'Dil Bechara' . 

Now, it's interesting to know Casting director and filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra had roped in late actor Asif Basra for projects like Kai Po Che and Hostages 2. He says the late actor had a personality that helped him leave a mark in all his films irrespective of the footage of his roles.

Asif and Sushant both worked together in Kai Po Che!

IANS quoted Mukesh in which he said, "He was such a brilliant actor and so energetic. I am still in shock. He was so positive. For every role, he would say, 'if you want to audition me, I am always ready'.

"I had auditoned him for Kai Po Che but after that I felt he was such a fantastic actor atht I never felt like auditioning him. He always wanted to do good work. He was always enthusiastic, energetic, fit and happy, so I am just shocked.

"Whether it was two scenes or three scenes, he used to stand out in every film. His personality was such that he used to leave a mark.

"He used to improvise too, for he was a spontaneous actor.

"The last time we spoke was in 2019 during Hostages 2. He had messaged me asking how I was doing. During pandemic, baat nahi hui (we didn't talk) as people were in their own worlds.

"But he was happy, and I'll always remember him from the time we met for Kai Po Che."
