The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh on late Thursday night has denied the news of former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan's demise news after Congress leader Shashi Tharoor publicized it over Twitter.

According to MP BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, "Tai is hale and hearty."

Notably, Vijayvargiya has also informed an eminent media house that Sumitra Mahajan is alive and she has tested negative for the Covid-19. Currently, she is under observation following the doctor’s recommendation.

Here's what Shashi Tharoor tweeted, "Saddened to learn of the passing of former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. I  remember many positive interactions with her, including when he and the late Sushma Swaraj asked me to lead a Parliamentary delegation to BRICS in Moscow. My condolences to her family and prayers: Shanti!"

After the reaction of a journo on Tharoor's tweet for spreading rumors, the Congress leader promptly deleted the tweet and repented for posting the news.

"I am relieved if that is so. I received this from what I thought was a reliable source: “पूर्व लोकसभा अध्यक्ष श्रीमती सुमित्रा महाजन जी हमारे बीच नहीं रहीं.

ईश्वर दिवंगत आत्मा को अपने श्रीचरणों में स्थान दें. Happy to retract & appalled that anyone would make up such news," Tharoor tweeted.

He also wrote, "Thanks @kailashOnline. I have deleted my tweet. I wonder what motivates people to invent and spread such evil news that takes in people. My best wishes for Sumitra ji’s health and long life."
