Case registered against Vibhu Agarwal, CEO of ULLU app, for allegedly molesting woman in office

Mumbai Police has filed a sexual harassment case against filmmaker Vibhu Agarwal, CEO of the adult app – ULLU.

Mumbai Police has filed a molestation case against the CEO of ULLU app Vibhu Agarwal for allegedly harassing a woman in the office storeroom. On the complaint of a woman, a case has been registered against Vibhu under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Mumbai Police have informed that Anjali Raina, the company’s head has also been booked in the case.

A criminal case was registered against both of them at Amboli police station on August 4, 2021. The 28-year-old victim has alleged that she was molested in the storeroom in the office of Vibhu's company ULLU Digital in Andheri, Mumbai.

The police were quoted saying, “The complainant, a female aged 28 years, recorded her reply concerning a complaint filed at Versova police station, where the woman stated that on 18 June 2021, at around 8:15 pm, the India Head and CEO of her company ULLU Digital Pvt. Ltd, Mr Vibhu Agarwal in the storeroom, located at Ullu Digital Pvt. Ltd, Lotus Business Park, Andheri (W), Mumbai, pressured her by threatening to defame her family if she did not listen to him, he then molested the lady by asking her to take off her clothes. A case has been filed at the Amboli Police Station under Sections 354, 354 (b), 506, 34 on 4 August 2021.”

During an interview, Vibhu Aggarwal said that the management authority of the company has been thinking to change the content of the ULLU platform to family content. He said, “With ULLU 2.0, about 60 per cent of our content has shifted towards making family shows and it is not regulation but we needed to change the perception of our platform. We also have a family and people do look at you differently when you speak about ULLU, which we want to change.” 

In 2013, Vibhu Aggarwal made the film 'Baat Ban Gayi'. The ULLU app was launched in the year 2018. Apart from Hindi and English, adult content is also available in Bhojpuri, Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Gujarati. 

These days, the Bollywood industry is highly involved in cases related to the porn industry. Raj Kundra was arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police on 19 July 2021. He is currently in the Byculla Jail in Mumbai. Mumbai Police has also shared the details of this case on the demand of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Kundra is accused of making porn videos and selling them online. Police are also probing Kundra's illegal money trail.
