A cloudburst took place in Himachal Pradesh’s Bhagsunatharea of Dharamshala on Monday morning, with reports suggesting that floodscaused many cars and other vehicles to be washed away.

The incident has caused widespread chaos and damage across the regionAround 10 shops damaged as Manjhi River rages following heavy rainfall. However, no loss of life was reported.

As per reports, the national highway near Jhakri inRampur area of Shimla district was blocked following heavy rainfall.

Notably, many tourists from Punjab and other nearby areasremain stranded at the national highway, while rescue and relief operationshave been slow because of the rain which is continuing since morning.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) hassounded a rain alert in various parts of the state. The MeT department earlier issuedan orange weather warning of heavy to very heavy rains in plains and mid-hillson July 12 and 13 July and yellow weather warning for July 14 and 15.
