Copa America: Peru and Brazil advance to semi-finals

In the recent match, Brazil won the match against Chile with 1-0 and Peru defeated Paraguay by 4-3.

On Friday, football fans enjoyed two interesting Copa America matches between Peru vs Paraguay and Brazil vs Chile.

Brazil vs Chile: Defending champions Brazil performed brilliantly and beat Chile to enter the semi-finals of the European Football Championship. The only goal was scored by the substitute player Lucas Pacetta during the second half of the game. 

A substitute player was in the field after Gabriel Jesus had to leave the game due to getting a red card.

Brazil forward Neymar was disappointed after the red card was issued to Jesus and said (after the win), “Jesus was just bad luck. He had his eye on the ball, not on the man, and unfortunately, he was sent off. Every day that goes by we have tests to make us stronger, to prove that we can play under all kinds of circumstances.” 

Paqueta kicked the ball into the net from the left side of Chilean Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo in the 46th minute. A strong game was played by the Brazil team and Brazil defended the goal and won the game. 

Peru vs Paraguay: Peru defeated Paraguay with 4-3. The last goal was claimed by Peru during the penalty shootout and the team is now in the semi-finals of the European Football Championship. The match was played at the Olimpico Stadium. A red card was issued to the key players of both the playing teams. 

Peru player Gianluca Lapadula scored two goals for the team.

In the penalty shootout, Alberto Espinola’s shot was saved by the Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese and a goal was scored by Miguel Trucco. Daniel Martinez and Brian Samudio also failed to score for Paraguay.

On the other side, Paraguay’s goalkeeper stopped the goals by Peruvians Santiago Ormeno and Cristian Cueva. The goals were scored by Lapadula, Yotun, Renato Tapia and Truco for Peru. 

Now, on Monday Peru would face Brazil in the semi-finals, Peru has faced Brazil in the 2019 Copa America final, which was won by Brazil with 3-1. During the group stage matches as well Brazil won by 4-0. 

Upcoming Matches:

Two other quarter-finals would take place on Saturday, which would be played between Uruguay and Colombia, and Argentina and Ecuador.

The semi-finals would be held on the 6th and 7th of July respectively.

The finale is scheduled for 11th July 2021.
