Cyclone Jawad: UGC-NET, IIFT exams delayed in some centres in Andhra, Odisha & Bengal

“It has been decided to postpone the exam scheduled to be held on 05.12.2021 at the exam centres in some cities, to a later date,” read NTA’s official notice.

In the view of Cyclone Jawad over the coastal states – Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, the National Testing Agency has postponed the entrance exam of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). The test was scheduled for 05.12.2021, Sunday.

 

The test has been rescheduled in some of the cities of the above-mentioned states. According to the official notice by the testing agency, the test has been cancelled in – Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, Odisha’s Bhubaneshwar, Sambalpur and Cuttack, and West Bengal’s Kolkata and Durgapur.

The official notice read, “In view of the cyclone which is expected to hit the coastal areas of Odisha on 04.12.2021 and the consequent disruption of normal life in the coastal areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, it has been decided to postpone the exam scheduled to be held on 05.12.2021 at the exam centres in some cities, to a later date.”

 

“Hence, the above-mentioned exam will not be held in the exam centres located in some cities on 05.12.2021,” it further read.

 

The notice has also advised the students to be in touch for further updates. “Candidates are advised to be in touch with the NTA website www.nta.ac.in or https://iift.nta.nic.in for further updates on the exam.

The deep depression has been intensified over the Bay of Bengal into Cyclone Jawad, on Friday. The Indian Metrological Department has said that the weather system is likely to reach the west-central Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts by Saturday morning.
