South actorDhanush and wife Aishwarya announced separation after their 18 years of happy relationship.Dhanush married Aishwarya in 2004. On January 17, both of them shared a post ontheir social media accounts about getting separated. Aishwarya is the eldest daughter of Rajinikanth. Sheis a film director and playback singer.

Taking tohis social media account, Dhanush shared a post and officially announced their separation.The actor wrote, " 18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parentsand well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding,adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaand I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us asindividuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us theneeded privacy to deal with this."

The duohad a beautiful journey of 18 years together. The couple met for the first timein a theatre for the film 'Kadhal Konde'. There the theatre owner introduced Aishwaryaand Soundarya to Dhanush. After the meet, Aishwarya sent flowers at Dhanush'sresidence and asked him to stay in touch.

After this,the duo dated each other for two years. Soon they started getting the attentionof the media but Rajinikanth's family didn't want anything to be writtenagainst their daughters. So they finally decided to get the duo married.  The marriage was very grand. The duo gotmarried in 2004. In 2006, they welcomed their first son, Yatra and second in2010 named Linga.

After 18years of relationship, the couple announced their separation last night onsocial media.
