The second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has begun with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. With CSK vs RR match underway (while writing this), Dhoni Review System is yet again the talk of the town, however this time for all the wrong reasons. MS Dhoni who is in the last phase of his IPL career is witnessing tremendous support where the CSK team is playing. In fact, Jio Cinema has observed an unusual and exponential increase in viewership whenever MS Dhoni comes out to bat. On Thursday, CSK vs RR was yet again expected to be a blockbuster encounter since both the teams were in outstanding form. Winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals decided to bat first and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal looked in sublime touch. During the powerplay, fans witnessed an unusual sight. MS Dhoni who is known for his impeccable record when it comes to taking DRS made a rare error. As a result, fans took to Twitter and shared the rare mistake of MS Dhoni of the 'Dhoni Review System'

How did MS Dhoni's DRS go wrong?

MS Dhoni's DRS call went wrong in the 4th over of the match when Yashasvi Jaiswal was slamming CSK's bowling lineup. When Mahesh Teekshana came to bowl, Yashasvi Jaiswal tried to slog sweep him but miserably missed and the ball hit straight to his pad. Teekshana made a loud appeal, however, the umpire did not give it out. As a result, MS Dhoni signed for DRS and the crowd erupted. However, in the highlight, it was revealed that the ball was pitched outside the leg stump and therefore CSK lost 1 review. Even former cricketer & commentator Sunil Gavaskar was shocked and during the commentary he said 'finally MS Dhoni got one DRS wrong'.

What MS Dhoni said during the toss?

After loosing the toss, MS Dhoni said, "This pitch has decent pace but the average bounce is slightly less. We are trying to build characters in our team (bowlers) and make them believe in themselves. Same side for us." On other hand, RR skipper Sanju Samson said, "We would like to bat first. We like to stick to our strength, which is to defend. It feels really great to play RR's 200th game, feels great to be playing for 10 years. Would love to see some pink here today, but it's yellow and we know that the reason is (smiles)."
