The BCCI released the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 14 on Sunday. IPL-14 will start on 9 April and the finale will be held on 30 May. All the IPL matches will be held in 6 cities Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. 

60 matches, including the final, will be played in 52 days between all 8 teams. The finals and play-offs matches of the 52-day tournament will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Yes, here’s the IPL 2021 and Modi connection we are talking about. The first match of the season will begin with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking over Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. Out of 56 of the league stage, 10–10 matches will be played in Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore. While Delhi and Ahmedabad will have 8-8 matches. 

The finale of IPL 2021 season and keeping it for Ahmedabad, we are drawing speculations, if it could be the Ahmedabad team going for the finals? Or Could it be the newly inaugurated stadium that is supposed to be lucky for the teams? Well, this will be revealed in the coming matches. The Stadium,  however, has been under criticism for its pitch and changing name from Sardar Patel to Narendra Modi Stadium. Netizens too were cracked over the Adani End and Reliance End at the stadium giving fire to the prime minister's favouring of these two businessmen.

Last year’s IPL match was organised in September-November instead of March-April due to the Coronavirus pandemic. But for the first time due to the Covid-19, no team will play in their home matches. All matches will be held at a neutral venue. This time 11 doubleheaders i.e. two matches will be played in a day. The afternoon matches will be played from 3.30 pm. The evening matches will start at 7.30 pm.

Delhi Capitals (DD) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are to play 2–2 matches in the afternoon under doubleheaders. Apart from these, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Punjab Kings (PK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will play 3-3 matches in the afternoon. The tournament's first doubleheader will be played between RCB and KKR on 18 April.
