Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai on late Tuesday, November 9 took to her Twitter account to announce a new journey the Pakistani activist was embarking on. The 24-year-old girl education activist shared the happy news about getting married to Aseer Malik in an intimate Nikah ceremony in central England’s Birmingham.
Malala is from Pakistan and was shot by the Taliban terrorist in 2012 for advocating girls education.
Sharing a few pictures from the wedding, Malala wrote, "Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead."
Congratulatory messages started pouring in as soon as Malala Yousafzai on Tuesday announced the news of her wedding and pictures of her and her husband on social media. Several prominent personalities congratulated and wished happiness to Malala on her nikah including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Chelsea Clinton, Priyanka Chopra, Melinda Gates, Divya Dutta and others.
Meanwhile, Malala wore a tea pink outfit and looked just like a traditional Pakistani bride and divine. She didn’t give much information about her husband apart from his first name and people are since then very keen on knowing more about him. Who is Aseer Malik?
Aseer Malik has been associated with the sports industry and is an entrepreneur. According to Aseer’s LinkedIn profile, he works as the General Manager High Performance for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and joined the board in 2020.
Apart from working for the PCB, Naseer has also worked for brands he has also worked with brands such as Coca Cola and FrieslandCampina and owns the Last Man Stands franchise in Pakistan. Earlier, he was the Managing Director at MLK Management, a player management agency, from April 2019 to May 2020.
Aseer Malik has done his schooling at Atchinson College in Lahore, Pakistan, and completed his BSc in economics and political science from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2012.

Since how long have Malala and Asser known each other?
Reports say that Malala and Aseer have remained private about their relationship on social media and public, adding that the couple has known each other since 2019.
Dating back to June 23, 2019, Asser had posted a group photo of him on Instagram in which Malala can be spotted along with former Pakistani cricketer Waqar Younis and others at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Malala was shot in the head by Taliban terrorists in 2012 when she was advocating for the basic right of education for girls and their right to learn at the age of 15. She was taken to a hospital in Birmingham, where she recovered and continued her activism for education for the girl child. The attack on Malala made Pakistan legislate their first Right to Education Bill.
Recently, her comments on marriage had stirred huge controversy. "I still don't understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can't it just be a partnership?", Malala had said in an interview with the Vogue magazine in June.
