Mumbai: Ex-Mr India Winner Manoj Patil Attempts Suicide After Blaming Actor Sahil Khan For Harassment

According to Manoj Patil's suicide letter, he committed suicide due to mental distress and stigma.

Manoj Patil, the former Mr India contest winner, reportedly tried to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills in the early hours of Thursday at his home in Oshiwara, police said.

Patil's family members transported him to a hospital after the alleged event, which occurred between 12.30 a.m. and 1 a.m. at Patil's house in Oshiwara's Saileela building, where his condition was described as "critical," according to his manager Pari Naaz.

Patil, a "self-made" athlete and model, had sent a petition to the Oshiwara police a few days ago, seeking action against Bollywood actor Sahil Khan for allegedly defaming him on social media and causing issues in his professional life, according to manager Pari Naaz.

They had demanded that a FIR be filed against the actor, she claimed. Manoj Patil  further claimed in his suicide letter that Sahil Khan defamed his nutrition shop on Instagram.

According to Manoj Patil's suicide letter, which has gone viral on social media, he committed suicide due to mental distress and stigma. Mr. India, Manoj, has begun his preparations for Mr. Olympia. Sahil Khan was also interested in competing in the competition. Manoj claims that Sahil was harassing him in order to keep him away from it and prevent him from competing in Mr. Olympia.

"Our official paid a visit to Patil at Cooper Hospital," Police official said.

Patil, who was born in 1992, was the 2016 Mr India Men's Physique Overall Champion.


Who is Sahil Khan?

Sahil Khan is an actor, fitness entrepreneur, and YouTuber from India. He is recognised for raising fitness awareness and has received awards from a number of Mumbai-based organisations.

Khan, 44, made his Bollywood debut in the film Style, and went on to appear in a number of other films, including the sequel to Style, Xcuse Me, Aladin, and Ramaa: The Saviour, a jungle thriller, to name a few.
