The recent situation between India and Pakistan is critical, and amid such crucial times, Pakistan has violated the ceasefire for the fifth consecutive time. Following the ceasefire on April 28, 2025, a video showing an aircraft crash is being widely circulated on social media. The caption of the video stated that the Pakistan Army had shot down an Indian Rafale fighter jet near LoC in the Poonch sector.
The truth behind the viral video was checked by PIB Fact Check, and it was revealed that this viral video was fake.
The investigation by the PIB Fact Check revealed that this video is not related to the recent border tensions between Pakistan and India. The video was footage of an IAF Sukhoi fighter, which crashed in Nashik, Maharashtra, back in 2024.
The Claim -
The video went viral after an X user named Anum Fatima shared a video of burning Indian Air Force Aircraft and wrote that Pakistan had shot down an Indian Rafale fighter jet near the LoC in the Poonch sector.
The caption with the video read, “Breaking News: Pakistan Shot Down Indian Rafael Fighter Jet Near LOC Ponch Sector. Big Achievement for Pakistan Air Force.”
However, it was investigated that this viral video was from Nashik, Maharashtra, and not from the Poonch sector.
PIB Fact Check also shared the details regarding the same on social media, which stated:
“Several pro-Pakistan social media accounts are falsely claiming that Pakistan has shot down an Indian Rafale fighter jet along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector of Kashmir.
