FIFA World Cup 2022: When, where, and how football fans will enjoy the WC 2022

The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup would kick off on November 21, 2022, and this edition would witness a number of things that haven’t happened before.

EURO 2020 tournament has come to end and the trophy is bagged by Argentina after 26 years, it’s now time to look ahead and FIFA World Cup is not too far away. 

There is a gap of only 500 days until Qatar would hold its first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab World. And the Qatar officials have informed that five stadiums out of eight stadiums are completely ready and the rest would be ready by the end of this year.

There is no information about the availability of tickets, the official website says that it would be updated soon and is ‘in due course.’

The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup would start from November 21, 2022, and would end on December 18, 2022. The tournament's first match has been scheduled at the stunning 60,000-seat Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor City and would be concluded at the 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium. 

This edition of the World Cup would be a compact version of a tournament in modern history. All the eight stadiums are within the area of 50 kilometres and players and officials would stay in one accommodation throughout the event. 

Nasser Al Khater, CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, said that it’s the country’s pride that it is hosting the biggest single-sport event.

In a press release, Al Khater said, “Five-hundred days to go means we’re getting very close,” said Al Khater in a release by AFC. “It’s been 10 years in the making and this will be the biggest event that’s ever happened in the Middle East. It will bring the region together and be a moment of pride in the history of the world. As we move closer to the tournament, we are sure the excitement is going to build even further.” 

Al Khater continued, “The compact nature is probably the most positive aspect of this World Cup. For fans, they won’t have to follow their team from city to city, which means there will be a significant cost saving and means they will have time to take in the ambiance and enjoy what Qatar has to offer.”
