India is few steps away to create yet another, thanks to India's explosive wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant blistering knock. Pant's explosive knock yet again put Indian team into the driver's seat. Till writing this article, India needed 10 runs in 4 overs, while Pant and Shardul were on crease. 

However, apart from this, Rishabh Pant on Tuesday broke former India captain MS Dhoni's record and became the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to score 1000 Test runs during the ongoing final Test vs Australia at the Gabba.

Pant achieved the milestone in 27 innings surpassing MS Dhoni who had taken 32 Test innings to score 1000 runs. Notably, Pant had also become the fastest Indian wicket-keeper to claim 50 dismissals in Test cricket back in 2019 vs West Indies.
