
Ina matter of gross negligence, three elderly women in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamlidistrict, who went to get the covid19 jab, were vaccinated against rabies. Thisis the second such incident came to light from Yogi Adityanath state in thelast one week.
Earlier,a UP woman was administered two shots of the Covid-19 vaccine at a primaryhealth center (PHC) in the Akbarpur area of Kanpur Dehat district. The reasonfor this was the nurse while giving the dose to the woman was busy talking overthe phone.
Nowonce again a huge negligence of the Uttar Pradesh health department has come tofore after the health condition of one of the three women who were vaccinatedagainst rabies instead covid19 became critical.
Thefamily reportedly created chaos outside the hospital after the woman fall ill anddemanded action from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Besides,the incident has also developed fear amongst other citizens who are questioningthe functioning and working of the government health care centres.
Raisingconcerns over the laxity of the UP government, people took to social media andsaid on one side PM Modi has asked to observe ‘Tika Utsav’ from April 11 to 14,while on the other side, the people are vaccinated for rabies instead ofcovid19. Meanwhile,this case is of Kandhla Community Health Center in Shamli where on Thursday,the three elderly women who were identified as Saroj (70), Anarkali (72) andSatyavati (60) went to the Community Health Center to get the first dose ofcoronavirus vaccine, however, they came back getting vaccinated against rabiesinstead.
Conditionof Saroj is said to be critical and she is undergoing treatment at a privatehospital now. She started feeling dizzy and began to panic after which, thefamily members immediately took her to the private doctor.
Afterthe family members showed a receipt of the vaccine that Saroj received from thehealth centre, the doctor expressed shock and intimated the family that she hasbeen vaccinated with rabies vaccine not covid19.
Takingaction on the matter, the family members of the three women then created aruckus outside health care centre and complained to the CMO Sanjay Aggarwalabout the case, demanding strict action against the negligence of the staff.
