Halwara Airport ready for takeoff: Construction complete, operations to begin soon

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora has recently announced that the construction work at the Halwara Airport has been completed and will be operational soon. The project site was reviewed and surveyed by the Rajya Sabha MP on Sunday. During this official trip, he was accompanied by leading entrepreneurs, councilors, and officials of the relevant departments. 

He further highlighted that Ludhiana is known to be an industrial hub for both domestic and national industries, which is why completion of the project was very important, as it would provide easier access. He also emphasized that this milestone was achieved by the current government, and the previous government failed to fulfill this commitment. 

MP Arora played an essential role in finalizing the designs and providing other approvals through the central government. He also mentioned that he received funds worth Rs 60 crores for the completion of this project

It is to be noted that during the visit, MP Sanjeev Arora was hailed by Kamal Oswal of Oswal Group and Gagan Khanna of Arisudana Industries for his contribution towards the completion of the project, leading to the increased air connectivity and increase in business and economy of Ludhiana. 

A team to visit the airport on April 30 - 

Sanjeev Arora stated that Halwara Airport's 'HWR’. The code has been assigned, and two flights will be run from here within the first 2 to 3 months. These flights will link Ludhiana with Delhi to countries like Europe as well as the USA, Canada, and Australia. The Airport Authority team is coming to the site on April 30 to provide a green signal in that aspect, after which P.W.D. Airport Terminal Control by AAI will be transferred.

Low visibility landing will also be conducted

Sanjeev Arora said that Halwara Airport is equipped with a CAT-2 system, which increases the landing capacity during poor visibility. Apart from this, the taxi can handle two airplanes at a time, and nearly 12 flights a day can be easily accommodated in the existing infrastructure.
