When questioned why he didn’t seek help from the authorities or whether he was aware of covid protocols, Dilip said that he is an illiterate, poor man, who hardly knew anything related to covid protocol. He said that soon after the hospital staff handed him the body, he returned to Jalandhar and the reason why no one from his neighbours or locality offered any help was because his daughter was covid19 positive.

He further added that he took Rs 1,000 financial help from someone in his area, bought the wood and performed her last rites.
