High-Level Meeting by Deputy Commissioner Regarding Urban Estate Railway Crossing

Jalandhar, May 12: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal held a high-level meeting today with officials from the Municipal Corporation, Railways, and Police Commissionerate.

  During the meeting, Dr. Aggarwal strictly directed the Municipal Corporation to thoroughly examine the underpass project at Urban Estate Railway Crossing C-7 and submit a report within the next two days regarding compliance with construction standards.

  As several shortcomings have been identified in this project, the Deputy Commissioner instructed railway officials that the railway crossing should remain closed until these flaws are rectified so that relief can be provided to local residents. He emphasized that the work was neither completed within the stipulated time nor in accordance with the given guidelines, and therefore, the Railways must immediately submit a separate report regarding this matter.

  The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Municipal Corporation to get the flaws rectified by ensuring the railway crossing remains closed. He stated that the inconvenience faced by local residents will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and the Municipal Corporation must ensure timely submission of the report.

  Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that the government initiates various development projects for public convenience, and there should be no compromise on quality in these projects. He added that during ongoing development projects in the district, the concerned departments and officials must ensure that the work is carried out with quality and in accordance with the prescribed standards.

  Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Gautam Jain, Joint Commissioner Rakesh Kumar, ACP Roopdeep Kaur, SDM Randeep Singh Heer, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
