How to do safe shopping amid Covid surge? From guideline to precautions, all you need to know

The research report of Florida University claims that around 18% of Covid patients are infecting their families. Amid these critical conditions, America’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid.

Coronavirus is wreaking havoc all over the world. The second wave of coronavirus has proved to be more dangerous and infectious. Several states in India have gone under a lockdown or stricter covid restrictions to stop the chain of novel coronavirus in the country.

Administrations are urging people to stay inside their homes and follow Covid norms. However, people are forced to go outside for basic necessities like vegetables, milk, and grocery. In such conditions, there is always a risk of contracting the virus. The research report of Florida University claims that around 18% of Covid patients are infecting their families. Amid these critical conditions, America’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid.

Home Delivery-While receiving a home delivery, make sure the delivery person is wearing a mask, and if not then don’t accept the package. Discard outer packaging and sanitize the items. Also, don’t forget to sanitize or wash your hands.

Grocery Shopping-Make a list of the grocery items you need. Wear disposable gloves along with the mask and maintain social distancing at shops. Payment should be done via the online method. Also, choose the timing wisely, go shopping when the shops are least crowded.

Wash vegetables and fruits and other packaged items. Sanitize your mobile phone with an alcohol-based solution. If possible take a bath after returning home, otherwise sanitize yourself, and wash your clothes. Avoid shopping for unnecessary items.

Home Service- Before inviting any service provider like a plumber or electrician inside the house; ask them to follow covid norms. Make sure they are wearing a mask and check their temperature. Isolate the elders or ill people inside a room before the service provider pays a visit. Maintain a distance of 6 feet and insist on cashless payment/ online payment. Sanitize your home after the service provider leaves.

Visiting doctor/hospital- First contact doctor via phone or email and communicate necessary precautions. Inform the doctor in advance if you are showing symptoms for Covid19. Keep wearing a mask during your visit and avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, or mouth and unnecessary surfaces. If possible then also avoid using public or hospital restrooms. Maintain 6 feet distance and insist on cashless and touchless payment. Follow the doctor’s advice and take prescribed drugs.
