
On 6th July, the HP Board of SchoolExaminations (HPBoSE) declared the result of class 10th who appearedin the session of 2020-21.
The percentage ratio of the candidates that passed theexamination has been higher and the mean percentage is recorded as 99.7 percentand as per the reports, the result was delayed because of the orders deliveredby the court.
1,16,954 students were enrolled for grade 10ththis year and the result is available at hpbose.org.
This time, the evaluation criterion was based on theperformances of the students in the first term, second term, pre-board, andinternal assessment exams of their academic session. Board examination was notheld this time due to the increase in COVID-19 cases and to ensure the safetyof children.
The HPBOSE the Class 10 Matric regular and SOS exams werescheduled to be conducted between April 13 and April 28. This year, all thestudents will be promoted to grade 11 as per norms suggested by the Central Boardof Secondary Education (CBSE) for their students, the Himachal PradeshGovernment has said.
As per the record of the board, last year, over 1.04 lakhstudents who appeared for the exam, 70,571 students – 68.11 percent – managedto clear the exam.5,617 students had to appear for the compartmental exam whilethe rest had failed. In 2019, 60.79 percent of students had cleared the boardexamination.
In 2020, the pass percentage was 71.56 percent among thestudents of the general category, 62.59 percent, and 63.88 percent forscheduled caste and scheduled tribe category students, respectively.

Those students who didn’t attempt the Hindi examinationon April 13, by the board are scheduled to give the exam on July 12. Thestudents have been directed to report to the board headquarter on July 12 at 10am.
According to the marking scheme of the HPBOSE, the Hindiexam is also to be included as a result declaration component. However, somestudents were not able to report to the center due to COVID-19, and onlyaverage marks were awarded to them.
Those candidates who are not happy with their results canappear for re-examination. The exam will be conducted on July 12 from 11 am to2 pm. The students need to carry a certificate which states that they wereaffected by COVID-19 on April 13.
The email to attend the re-exam needs to be sent to theSecretary, HPBoSE in advance through email by July 9. The email address of theSecretary is hpbosesocond1.19@gmail.com. The valid Covid-19 positive report ismandatory to be attached to the email.
The class 10 meritlist is not yet declared by the HP board as some students will appear for thespecial Hindi examination on July 12. The merit list will be declared after theresult of the Hindi exam is announced.
