Karan Johar has been alleged of only giving chances to star kids.

Karan-Johar Nepotism Bollywood-Director

The last after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, ‘nepotism’ was something discussed like never before and many star kids like  Alia Bhatt, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, etc., was censured on the internet, to an extent of blaming them for Rajput’s murder.

From being heavily trolled to being abused on social media, many received offensive messages on Instagram, others faced the worst repercussion - their films were boycotted by netizens.

However, during the nepotism debate, there was one name which underwent the most scorn, who is one other than filmmaker Karan Johar, who is well-known for launching star kids has again given a statement that could land in to get trolled.

In an old interview with Rediff, Karan Johar admitted that he doesn’t want to work with newcomers. Justifying his reason, the SOTY director said, "I've been accused of never launching a newcomer. I say I do even better, I launch new directors. Which is far more important for me. I don't even want to sound cliched and say when the script comes, I'll work with a newcomer.”

He further stated he doesn't want to work with newcomers and has no interest in it. I like working with stars who have already made names and have evolved now after making mistakes.

The Bollywood director in the same interview had also asserted that he does not want to be a professor to the newcomers, but wants to have an interaction with them. "I don't have an inherent desire to teach, I feel I have things to learn. So I have absolutely no interest in going down that path. But I love interacting with new directors because I believe that they'll teach me a helluva lot.”

I learn more about movies and filmmaking from the new people who entered the industry, Johar added, while he concluded by saying “whether they make a good one or a bad one, they teach me a lot.”
