The second day of the first Test in Chennai between India and England continues. England have lost 4 wickets. Ben Stokes was out for 82 runs. He was caught by Shahbaz Nadeem at the hands of Cheteshwar Pujara. Captain Joe Root and Ollie Pope are at the crease. There was a 124-wicket partnership for the fourth wicket between Root and Stokes.

Stokes played a quick inning, scoring the 23rd fifty of his Test career off 73 balls. At the same time, Root became the second batsman in the world to score 150+ runs in the 100th Test. Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq had scored 184 runs in his 100th Test in 2005. Inzamam played this innings against India in Bengaluru. In the same way, there are many more.

However, what impressed everyone and even English all-rounder Ben Stokes is the toe-crushing yorker of Jasprit Bumrah. When Stokes was new at the crease, Bumrah came to ball and delivered a perfect yorker which almost got the wicket of Stokes. However, inside toe of Stokes's bat saved him and later he scored an entertaining 82.
