The first test is being played in Chennai between India and England. England gave India a target of 420 runs. By the end of the fourth day's play, Team India has scored 39 runs losing 1 wicket. Cheteshwar Pujara 12 runs and Shubman Gill are 15 not out. India will have to score 381 runs on the last day to win. Rohit Sharma scored 12 runs. Jack Leach bowled him clean.

On the fourth day of the Test, 297 runs were scored and 15 wickets fell. This includes 5 wickets of India and 10 wickets of England. The English team was all out for 178 runs in the second innings. Ravichandran Ashwin took 6 wickets. He dismissed Rory Burns, Dominic Sibley, Ben Stokes, Dom Bess, Jofra Archer, and James Anderson. Apart from him, Shahbaz Nadeem took 2 wickets. At the same time, Ishant Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah got 1-1 wicket. England had scored 578 runs in the first innings. Whereas, Team India had scored 337 runs in the first innings.

India will have to chase a record target to win this Test. The record of chasing the biggest target is in the name of the West Indies. He scored a target of 418 against Australia in 2003. India has achieved the highest target of 406 runs in Tests. The team set this record against the West Indies in 1976.
