India and England T20 series concluded yesterday. India won a high-scoring game. Earlier England won the toss and chose to bowl. Batting first India piled up a huge total of 224/2 after their 20 overs. It looked like an uphill task for England at the beginning of the chase. After the first wicket fell without scoring, the task got harder. Dawid Malan and Jos Butler teamed up to steady the ship and gave England hope. Both the batsmen batted well to get to their respective half-centuries. At one stage it looked like the match is going to the wire as England was making good progress to chase down the score. But once the wicket of Jos Butler fell, England could not recover from that loss, suddenly things started happening for Indian bowlers. English batsmen were not able to time the ball as they were doing before. Eventually, constantly falling wickets lead to England losing the all-important clash. India won the series.

Many positives came out for India. This series was taken as a preparation series for the upcoming T20 World cup later this year, also to be held in India. There were many positives that came out for India. Debutants Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan performed well whenever they got the chance. Bhuvi came back to the Indian side and made an impact.

Surya Kumar scored an impressive fifty in his first outing and in the fifth match scored a decisive 32 alongside Virat Kohli. Ishan Kishan on the other hand got injured after his debut, not before impressing one and all with his fifty in the debut. Surya Kumar's brilliant performance ensured he gets a spot in the ODI team as well.

Many anticipated the comeback from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and he did not disappoint. He bowled economically and picked up wickets when the team required it. Although Bhumrah and Shami were not playing the Indian bench strength came good with the likes of Shardul Thakur, who was the highest wicket-taker in the series and Hardik Pandya bowled well alongside Bhuvi, the Man of the Match of the 5th T-20 International.

Virat Kohli was declared the Man of the series, for his brilliant knocks throughout the series. All in all a great series before the T-20 World Cup later in the year. Virat Kohli revealed that he will be opening the batting in IPL as well. Virat along with Rohit at the top gives the Indian team the chance to play an extra bowler. Also helps the other batsmen coming in with one of the two set and in.
