Sanjana Ganesan, a renowned sports presenter, was overjoyed when her husband, Jasprit Bumrah, returned home after the 2021 Indian Premier League was postponed. Sanjana was one of the presenters during the tournament while Bumrah was a member of the Mumbai Indians, led by Rohit Sharma.
Sanjana shared a photo of herself with a wide smile while sitting next to her loved one after he returned home. The couple is also seen wearing similar color t-shirts in the picture.
Bumrah wished his wife a happy birthday earlier this week, “Happy birthday to the person who steals my heart every day. You’re my person, I love you.”
Bumrah had a strong showing in the 2021 IPL, taking six wickets in seven games. With the exception of a game against the Chennai Super Kings in which he scored over 50 runs, he was fairly economical. He was frugal with the death overs, as he always was.
He was saddened by the IPL's suspension, but he realised the importance of the situation. Bumrah expressed his thoughts in a video posted by MI's official Twitter account.
“It’s unfortunate that the tournament had to stop midway but I think it was in everybody’s best interest to take care of everybody’s safety and well-being,” he said.
