Tomark the International Women's day in a unique way, Commissioner of PoliceGurpreet Singh Bhullar today handed over flowerpots and plants to women policeofficials and complainants as a token of respect at the premises ofCommissioner of Police Jalandhar.

Divulgingthe details, CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that flowerpots and plants havebeen distributed to as many as 32 women police officials who are working asMahila Mitra at help desks established at all police stations. Mr. Bhullarreiterated his commitment to ensuring round the clock safety and security ofwomen as Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today in a state level functionlaunched a slew of schemes for women including 181 women helpline and SaanjhShakti helpdesk. Mr. Bhullar said that the department has also impartedrequisite training to women officials so that they can efficiently attend andredress the grievances of women at helpdesk and 181 helpline.

TheCP further added that the police department would leave no stone unturned toinfuse a sense of security among women in the city as the police department hasalready taken a battery of measures to curtail the crime against women.

Hefurther added that a medical counseling camp was also organized at the policeline, where specialist doctors briefed about various diseases especially aboutbreast cancer, Menopause and Lifestyle and Diet related issues. SeniorGynecologist Dr. Gupreet Kaur, Dietician Dr. Ranjana from Shingara SinghHospital, and Dr. Anamika Lal from PAP Hospital interacted with the womenofficials and women family members of police personnel during an event besidesencouraging them to adopt a healthy life-style with meditation, yoga, and regularmedical checkups.

DrTarsem Bharti from Police Lines Jalandhar felicitated the guest doctors, andDCP HQ Arun Saini thanked all the guests for sparing their valuable time andfor giving useful advice and suggestions. Subsequently, a medical checkup campwas also organized for the general health examination of the ladies.
