Jalandhar CP hands over plants to women visitors and officials on International Women's day

Reiterates commitment to ensuring round the clock safety and security to women in the city, medical counseling and checkup camps organized at police line to aware women officials about various diseases

To mark the International Women's day in a unique way, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today handed over flowerpots and plants to women police officials and complainants as a token of respect at the premises of Commissioner of Police Jalandhar.

Divulging the details, CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that flowerpots and plants have been distributed to as many as 32 women police officials who are working as Mahila Mitra at help desks established at all police stations. Mr. Bhullar reiterated his commitment to ensuring round the clock safety and security of women as Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today in a state level function launched a slew of schemes for women including 181 women helpline and Saanjh Shakti helpdesk. Mr. Bhullar said that the department has also imparted requisite training to women officials so that they can efficiently attend and redress the grievances of women at helpdesk and 181 helpline.

The CP further added that the police department would leave no stone unturned to infuse a sense of security among women in the city as the police department has already taken a battery of measures to curtail the crime against women.

He further added that a medical counseling camp was also organized at the police line, where specialist doctors briefed about various diseases especially about breast cancer, Menopause and Lifestyle and Diet related issues. Senior Gynecologist Dr. Gupreet Kaur, Dietician Dr. Ranjana from Shingara Singh Hospital, and Dr. Anamika Lal from PAP Hospital interacted with the women officials and women family members of police personnel during an event besides encouraging them to adopt a healthy life-style with meditation, yoga, and regular medical checkups.

Dr Tarsem Bharti from Police Lines Jalandhar felicitated the guest doctors, and DCP HQ Arun Saini thanked all the guests for sparing their valuable time and for giving useful advice and suggestions. Subsequently, a medical checkup camp was also organized for the general health examination of the ladies.
