
Acting tough against the black-marketing of drugsrequired for the Covid-19 -treatment, District Administration Jalandhar onWednesday asked the local police authority to launch an FIR against a personallegedly involved in black-marketing of Remdesivir injections.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner GhanshyamThori said that a complaint was received from Ms. Reema Guglani against aperson namely Luv Mehra for hoarding these injections. After a preliminaryinquiry, the allegations against the accused were found to be true prima facie,he said, adding that the recommendation for lodging an FIR under EpidemicDisease Act and Disaster Management Act has been made to the police department.
The DC reiterated his firm commitment to ensuring the best ofthe medical services amid this pandemic and urged people to bring such sort ofmalpractices and overcharging in the knowledge of district administrationthrough WhatsApp at 9888981881, 9501799068 with proof so that stern actioncould be initiated against the perpetrators of such a heinous crime. He alsomentioned that the complainant would be rewarded by the administration in casetheir evidence against black-marketing led to the registration of an FIR againstoffenders.
