‘Jio Institute to start academic sessions’: Nita Ambani at AGM 2021

In the virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM), Reliance has announced several deals. One of the major deals announced by oil-to-telecom giant is that Jio Institute is all set to commence its academic session this year.

Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani has said that the admission process will soon begin for this year's academic session. “Despite the pandemic, I am pleased to announce that Jio Institute is all set to commence academic sessions at their campus in Navi Mumbai this year itself!" said Nita Ambani.

The Reliance industries on Thursday held its 44th annual general meeting (AGM). In the virtually conducted meet, the company chairperson Mukesh Ambani made several announcements like- JioPhone Next, which is the ‘most affordable smartphone’ will land in the markets in the month of September.

Announcing about the beginning of Jio Institute in Navi Mumbai, Ms. Ambani said, “We have also worked very hard through these challenging times, to bring our dream project the ‘Jio Institute’ to life!”

“Jio Institute is envisioned to be an exemplary academic institution with a world-class platform for research, innovation, and lifelong learning. It will prepare the next generation of global leaders who will significantly contribute to the advancement of India and the world,” she added.

So far, Jio Institute will start academic session for programs in Artificial intelligence, data science, digital media and integrated marketing communications for undergraduates. Soon, the Reliance Foundation will launch scholarships for undergraduates and post-graduates in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.

In the Reliance AGM 2021, the company also assured that there will be no salary or bonus cut due to the covid 19 pandemic. Further addressing the shareholders, Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani outlined the steps taken by the foundation amid the pandemic. She said that Reliance now produces 11 percent of India's overall medical-grade oxygen.
