Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay dies, family to donate his organs

The actor had suffered injuries in the right portion of the brain and the thigh region.

National Award-winning Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay has been declared brain-dead on June 12 after he met a serious accident. Sanchari was returning home on his bike when he met with an accident on Saturday. The actor's family has decided to donate his organs.

Sanchari Vijay had sustained serious injuries in the road accident after which he was treated at a hospital in Bangalore. Reportedly, the actor had suffered injuries in the right portion of the brain and the thigh region.

Vijay was riding pillion with his friend Naveen. The bike skidded and hit an electric pole after which Naveen fractured his leg but Vijay was critically injured. The accident occurred around 11:45 pm on Saturday. Reportedly, the duo had gone out to but medicines. A case has been lodged against Naveen as the covid induced lockdown was still in force in the state.

Confirming the news of his demise, actor Kichcha Sudeep said, “Very very disheartening to accept that Sanchari Vijay breathed his last. Met him a couple of times just before the lockdown...all excited about his next film that's due for release. Very sad. Deepest Condolences to his family and friends. RIP.”

Siddesh Kumar, Vijay's brother informed that the family has decided to donate his organs. “Doctors have informed us that his brain stem has failed and the possibilities of him reviving are very slim. As you all know he always worked for the betterment of society, we have decided to donate his organs. We believe that it will bring him peace. He will continue to help society even in death. Thanks to everyone who tried to do their best to help him,” he added.

Earlier, the neurosurgeon Arun Nayak had said, “The health condition of Sanchari Vijay is very critical. As he had a blood clot in the brain, we have performed surgery, the next 48 hours are going to be critical.

Sanchari Vijay had made his debut in 2011 with the film Rangappa Hogbitna. Later, he rose to fame with the film Naanu Avanalla Avalu, for which he received his first National Award.
