On September 8, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar lost his mother Aruna Bhatia. She died two days after being taken to a Mumbai hospital's intensive care unit. The actor is said to have returned to Mumbai from London on Monday to care for his seriously ill mother. Akshay resorted to Twitter to express his sadness on Wednesday and told that his mother died away peacefully.

It is sad to know that this time the actor will turn one year older when his mother is not with him. Every year actor celebrated his birthday with his mother but this will be the first time that Akshay will miss his mother.

Akshay Kumar turned to social media on his birthday to offer a heartfelt message for his mother. He also sent a heartfelt message for his late mother, sharing a wonderful photo of them together. On his special day, he shared a joyful memory with her of her planting a kiss on the cheek of a Bollywood celebrity. Akshay also thanked everyone who sent him condolences and well wishes in his message.

He captioned the post, "Would have never liked it this way but am sure mom is singing Happy Birthday to me from right up there! Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on.”

Though the actor is going through a difficult time, his fans are giving him support by sending him heartfelt messages on social media on his birthday.

A fan asked Akshay to stay strong and shared the actor's pictures. He wrote, "Happy Birthday @akshaykumar stay strong (sic)."

On September 8, Aruna Bhatia passed away. On September 3, she was taken to Mumbai's Hiranandani Hospital in a serious condition. Akshay tweeted on his mother's death, writing, "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti."   Many Bollywood celebs paid their condolences to Akshay's mother at his house.
