Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a surprise visit to the Adampur Air Force Station in Jalandhar, Punjab, today, on May 13, 2025. It is to be noted that this Airbase holds significant importance due to its strategic placement near the India-Pakistan border.
This visit by PM Modi was just a few days after Operation Sindoor was concluded by the government of India. During the visit, the Prime Minister interacted with the present Air Force personnel and also expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their commitment towards the security of the nation.
The Prime Minister appeared in front of the S-400 missile system, which was stationed at the base. It is believed that this act by PM Modi is a reply to the Pakistani claims that they have destroyed the system during the recent war between India and Pakistan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared a glimpse of his visit to Adampur Air Base on social media. Interestingly, the pictures shared by PM Modi showcased the Russian-made S-400 in the background. S-400 is known as India's "Sudarshan Chakra." Pakistan propagated fake news that it not only downed India's Rafale jets but also destroyed India's Air Defence System S-400.
Furthermore, PM Modi had a chat session with the IAF personnel during which he highlighted India’s strong and firm stand against terrorism and also highlighted that the government of India will not tolerate any kind of terrorist activity.
