Big Turnaround by KKR:

KKR had a poor record against MI before to this match, with only six victories in a total of 28 games, but Iyer and Tripathi helped the franchise turn things around. KKR got off to a flying start in chase of 156, as Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer put on 40 runs in three overs.

However, in the third over of the innings, Jasprit Bumrah bowled Gill (13) to end the opening stand.  KKR's score at the end of the powerplay was 63/1, with Iyer going all guns blazing.

Iyer and Tripathi kept wreaking havoc, and both batsmen scored half-centuries. Both batsmen put up 88 runs for the second wicket, but Bumrah ended the stand when he sent Iyer (53) back to the pavilion with KKR 28 runs behind the mark. In the end, Tripathi (74*) and Nitish Rana (5*) guided KKR to a seven-wicket victory with 29 balls remaining.

Middle Order again fails for Mumbai Indians:
Quinton de Kock's 55-run knock earlier in the match helped Mumbai Indians score 155/6 in the allocated twenty overs against KKR. The Mumbai Indians got off to a strong start when they batted first, with opening batsmen Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock putting up 56 runs in the first six overs. Sunil Narine removed Rohit in the 10th over after Rohit and de Kock had put up 78 runs for the first wicket (33).

Suryakumar Yadav, who batted at number three, failed to make an impact, scoring only five runs. Prasidh Krishna returned him to the pavilion. De Kock (55) was also dismissed two overs later, reducing Mumbai Indians to 106/3 in the 15th over.

The biggest disappointment for MI was Ishan Kishan, who, like the rest of the season, failed miserably. Kishan (14) may have struck a big six off Andre Russell's bowling, but he was bowled out by Lockie Ferguson in the following over.
In the end, Kieron Pollard struck 21 runs off 15 balls to push Mumbai's total beyond 150, but MI's middle order once again failed to deliver.

Brief Scores: Mumbai Indians 155/6 (Quinton de Kock 55, Rohit Sharma 33; Lockie Ferguson 2-27) vs KKR 159/3 (Rahul Tripathi 74*, Venkatesh Iyer 53, Jasprit Bumrah 3-43).
