A case of vandalism in a temple has come to light in Ludhiana, Punjab. Some miscreants vandalized the temple built on Delhi National Highway near village Sahnewal late on Monday night. This morning when the priest of the temple opened the temple, he was witness to a shocking scene. The glass of the temple was found broken and the Shiva family was disintegrated with sharp weapons. There are a total of 14 statues which have been broken.

 

According to information, the temple priest arrived and found the locks on the doors to be busted. He stumbled on the gruesome scene with the ‘Shivling’ uprooted with crowbars. The temple priest immediately informed the temple committee members. The committee members reached the spot, saw the situation and immediately informed the police of Sahnewal police station.

 

Shiv Sena and other Hindu leaders along with police reached the incident site. Hindu leaders expressed anger against the lax action of the police administration. Due to lack of CCTV cameras installed in the temple, the miscreants could not be detected yet. In this case, the police is checking the CCTV cameras installed in factories etc. on the highway.

 

Shiv Sena leaders expressed their outrage at the incident calling it a great shame as religious sentiments of the Hindu Society have been hurt. According to reports, Shiv Sena leaders say that they will put up a big fight if the attackers are not caught soon.

 

Pandit Bharat Kishore Pandey said that he reached the temple at 6 am today and found the lock of the gate to be broken. The Shiva temple was destroyed. The idol of Maa Durga was broken. There are no CCTV cameras installed in the temple, hence nothing is known about the attackers yet. There is anger in Hindu society.
