Man opens fire round in Jalandhar Congress legislator Henry Bawa’s office, one injured

A man opened a round of fire in Jalandhar on Saturday evening in the office of Congress legislator Henry Bawa’s office.

Notably, this incident took place during a reconciliation meeting between two groups, who were involved in a scuffle over car damage since yesterday.

According to the reports, when the fire round was opened legislator Bawa was not present in the office while Mr. Avtar Bawa was sitting in an inside cabin of the main office.

As per the preliminary information, Montu and Shehzada of Mohalla Kot was indulged in a tiff over the car damage. On July 24 evening, to break the ice between them, former minister Mr. Avtar Henry called them to his office.

It has been learnt that Shehzada reached the office with a bunch of supporters, who were waiting in an open area. Another involved in the case, Montu, visited the office with his group. Meanwhile, Mr. Henry left the main hall due to some work and went to another cabin, both groups grew anguished and started manhandling. Raged over the conflict, Shehzada used his pistol to target his rival and the bullet hit Montu, who got his foot injured.

Taking cognizance of the matter, a team of police reached the spot and has started the probe.
