In a major development, a part of a missile was recovered from a field area in the Bhogpur region of Jalandhar, Punjab. According to the preliminary information by the locals, the part was received near Jamalpur village of Bhogpur.
Reportedly, the farm belonged to a farmer named Amarjeet Singh, who immediately contacted police officials at the Police State Bhogpur and informed them about the matter, and within no time, the officials reached the farm for investigation into the matter.
The team was led by SHO Ravinder Pal Singh, who also reached the location and conducted an investigation into the matter. Following this, the Army was informed about the case. Notably, after this, a contingent of the Indian Army from Adampur Air Base reached the Jamalpur village, and the investigation and research into the matter are underway.
The missile part is not under the Army’s possession -
The reports have mentioned that the Army officials have reached the spot and have been examining the piece of the missile - which revealed that there was no flammable or explosive object near or around the part of the missile.
SHO Ravinder Singh mentioned that during the time of the (India and Pakistan) war, the Indian Army destroyed every missile fired in the air, which could have resulted in recovery of the missile part from the field.
