Raman Arora's son Rajan, MLA's daughter's father-in-law Raju Madaan & aide Makheja named in FIR; Vigilance conducts raid to nab them

The trio has been accused of being involved in a corruption conspiracy with MLA Raman Arora related to municipal contracts and property scams. A senior official of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has confirmed the development.

Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) is intensifying its investigation into the corruption case under which Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora has been arrested. Raman Arora will be presented in court today by the Vigilance Bureau as his five-day remand comes to an end. As per the information received, Raman Arora's son Rajan Arora, MLA's daughter's father-in-law Raju Madaan, and close associate Mahesh Makheja have been named in an FIR filed by the Vigilance Bureau. The trio has been accused of being involved in a corruption conspiracy related to municipal contracts and property scams. A senior official of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has confirmed the development. Raman Arora's daughter is married to Raju Madaan's son.

According to the FIR, the accused allegedly took bribes to manipulate official work and sanctioned property transfers under the names of multiple individuals. The case also mentions their collusion with municipal officials to carry out irregularities in exchange for kickbacks. Statements from seven witnesses have been recorded, reportedly providing substantial evidence against the accused. In response, Vigilance teams launched raids on Thursday to trace Rajan Arora, Raju Madaan, and Mahesh Makheja.

As per reports, Rajan Arora is currently said to be abroad. A look-out circular and Red Corner Notice are being initiated to bring him back. Meanwhile, Vigilance will seek remand for the accused in court today by presenting concrete evidence.

It has been alleged that Rajan Arora handled multiple operations within the Municipal Corporation. Based on the lastest findings, all three have been officially booked by the Vigilance Bureau. Arrest warrants are expected to be issued by the court soon.

Vigilance Raids and Search Operations Intensify

Vigilance has also launched a manhunt to trace three missing bags believed to contain critical evidence, including financial documents. CCTV footage shows Raju Madaan and Mahesh Makheja moving the bags, which are now unaccounted for. In total, seven teams have been deployed by Vigilance to track down assets and persons of interest. It is also suspected that Arora acquired land worth crores under the names of relatives and family friends. Vigilance is expected to request a fresh remand for MLA Arora today to continue interrogation and recover additional assets and evidence.
