While the majority of Bollywood and sports fraternity called for unity following the tweet of Hollywood pop-star Rihanna and cautioned Indians to not pay heed to any external efforts, cricketer Sandeep Sharma came in open support to the farmers. Sandeep took to Twitter and slammed people who joined #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda trends on social media and called farmer's protest an 'internal issue'.

Sandeep took to Twitter and shared a long hard-hitting note. Sandeep questioned the Ministry of External Affairs response over Rihanna's tweet and said that every situation is someone’s internal affair. In his long note, Sandeep had said, "Many people, including the Indian External Affairs Ministry, have criticized the famous singer Rihanna for having supported the Indian farmers, saying it is the internal affair of India. But by that logic, no one outside Germany should have criticized the persecution of the Jews in Germany during the Nazi era. By that logic, no one outside Pakistan should criticism the persecution of Ahmadis, Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians in Pakistan. "

However, Sandeep soon deleted his tweet. The taking down of tweet by Sandeep crated a huge uproar and people on social media accused that Jay Shah (BCCI Secretary) who is also the son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has forced the cricketer to delete his statement.

A user wrote, "Benifits of having Jay Shah as the BCCI Secratary! Every Cricketer learns a new word like Amicable Solution"
