Jalandhar, April 2: District administration is all set tostart construction of the new cattle shed at village Kanian Kalan Gaushala inShahkot as funds of Rs. 38.55 lakh have already been approved by the districtmineral foundation, announced Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori.
While visiting the Gaushala, the deputy commissioneraccompanied by SDM Shahkot Dr. Sanjiv Sharma said that the funds of districtminerals would be transferred to concerned authority for the construction ofcattle shed here. He also assured the management of Gaushala for earlyreleasing of requisite funds for fodder lying with Municipal Corporation inlieu of the stray cattle being sent to this Gaushala.
The deputy commissioner stated that the districtadministration is going to launch a special drive to tie reflective tapes onthe necks of stray cattle to prevent road accidents besides other measures tosave many precious lives.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner visited the old age homelocated at village Bili Wadaich, which is being run by Gill Welfare Society. Helauded the efforts of local youths for running this home for old age personsand providing them best of the facilities here. He called upon youngsters tofollow the footsteps of youths working in this village to serve the seniorcitizens besides offering fulsome support from the administration.
