The eagerly anticipated Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are set to be deployed across the expansive network of Indian Railways. The Sleeper version of Vande Bharat is set to be launched by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in September 2024. It has already created new expectations in passenger ease and comfort after being announced. Vande Bharat sleeper is being manufactured by BEML with ICF’s sleeper technology.
IR plans to deploy the Vande Bharat Sleeper train on the New Delhi-Secunderabad and a few other routes. The Sleeper train WILL be the 3rd on the New Delhi – Secunderabad route after Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.
The Sleeper trains on this route will travel a distance of 1667 km in a designated target time of 20 hours. This is the intended speed of the Sleeper, which will be operational at a speed of 160 km/h. The Vande Bharat Sleeper, once up and running, will be the speediest train on this route, followed by the Rajdhani Express and the Duronto Express.
From New Delhi to Secunderabad Vande Bharat Sleeper train will stop at some probable stations such as Agra Cantt, Gwalior, V. Lakshmibai Jhs, Bhopal, Itarsi, Nagpur, Balharshah, and Kazipet Junction. The Sleeper train will also have a few other major stops.
AC 3 Tier is among the facilities provided in the 11 sleeper coaches of the New Delhi to Secunderabad Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, which will have a total of 16 coaches.
