Ranchi: In a joint operation conducted by the teams of Itkhi and Mandar Police Stations a hardcore criminal who was wanted in more than 22 cases was arrested on Saturday.
The arrested has been identified as Haarish Ansari alias Jahur Ansari.
A total of 22 cases related to theft, snatching, loot, dacoity, extortion, attempt to murder and those related to arms act in 11 different police stations spread across four districts of the state.

Police said that Itkhi police were on a lookout for Ansari for the last 12 years but he had always managed to evade arrest.
Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta had constituted a special team led by Bedo DSP to nab the criminal which finally managed to arrest him today. The arrested criminal later confessed his involvement in all the crimes registered against him after which he was forwarded to jail.
