Oxygen shortage: India to import over 10K oxygen concentrators

The central government initiates measures to increase supply of oxygen to the already stretched-thin health system of India so that no individual dies due to lack of this life-saving gas.

The backbone of the Indian health system, both public and private, has been broken due oxygen shortage.

India is losing many people by the day due to shortage in this life-saving gas. The situation is so dire that patients and their families are forced to wait outside the hospitals. Many die waiting there.

PM Narendra Modi-led central government has decided to import oxygen concentrators from abroad. Ten thousand concentrators have been ordered and the imports will start in the next week.

Further, the government has tied up with many private companies to have them import their oxygen concentrators from abroad.

The hospitals have been forced to deny new admissions because they do not have oxygen supply to meet the demands.

To ease the supply chain, the customs department has been instructed to ensure speedy processing of goods related to Covid 19. This includes oxygen-related equipments.

We, at this point in time are facing a humanitarian crisis. The pandemic Corona is not reducing its grip on our motherland and people are losing their family members.
