Patiala DC calls upon senior citizens, persons above 45 with co-morbidities to come-forward for getting Covid-19 vaccination

Patiala, March 3: Deputy Commissioner Patiala, Mr Kumar Amit along with ADC (G) Pooja Sayal Grewal and AC (G) today got the second dose of COVISHIELD at Mata Kaushalya Government Hospital.

While taking the second dose of immunisation against COVID, Mr Kumar Amit appealed to all the senior citizens above 60 years of age and persons in the age group of 45 to 59 and having comorbidities to come forward to get them registered for vaccination.  

Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit further said that after the launching of the first phase in which the vaccination of health workers was started and the second phase, in which the officials and employees of the Ministry of Defense, Water Supply and Sanitation, Local Government and Revenue Departments have been vaccinated, the third phase have been launched for the people over the age of 60 and people with comorbidities between the age of 45 and 60 are being vaccinated. He said that for the third phase, registration can be done at Covin App 2.0, Arogya Setu App and the nearest immunization centre. Apart from that, SEWA KENDRA'S of the district would also facilitate the people of the above categories for registration from tomorrow i.e. March 4 onwards.

He clarified that in the meantime, vaccination for the first and second phase categories would also remain to continue along with this phase.

After getting vaccinated, ADC (G) Mrs Pooja Sayal Grewal said that today she has been given the second dose of the COVID vaccine.  She appealed to others to come forward and be part of the vaccination drive and contribute to the fight against COVID.
