Veteran Cricketer Kapil Dev takes his first shot of Covid-19 vaccine

Earlier on Tuesday, Team India head coach Ravi Shastri received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Ahmedabad.

Former skipper and World Cup-winning captain of 1983, Kapil Dev, on Wednesday received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Dev, 62, took the vaccine at the Fortis Hospital in Delhi under the supervision of his cardiologist Dr Atul Mathur.

  

Last year, Dev was admitted to hospital in October after he complained of chest pain. He also underwent a successful coronary angioplasty. 

Madan Lal, who also was a vital part of the World Cup-winning side in 1983, received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday. "In the fight against Covid -19 .. I'm vaccine strong!!! "Proud to get the Jab ". Organized and well handled at Jeewan hospital and nursing home !!!" he tweeted.

Ravi Shastri, 58 who is currently Team India’s head coach got inoculated with his first Covid-19 dose in Ahmedabad at Apollo Hospital. 

India started its second phase of Coronavirus vaccination for those above 60 years of age, and people between 45 and 59 years of age with comorbidities on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi got his first jab of Covid-19 vaccine early Monday morning and many political leaders also came forward to get vaccinated.
