Popular TN YouTuber held for quackery amid pandemic

Amid the second wave of coronavirus in the country, a considerable number of people are hesitant towards getting Cvoid treatment. Some people are avoiding getting administered with Covid19 vaccine whereas some believe coronavirus is a scam. In such sensitive times, a popular YouTuber was booked in Tamil Nadu for running a medical clinic without having the necessary qualifications.

R. Porchezhiyan, a famous Tamil Nadu YouTuber was held for quackery during the coronavirus pandemic. He runs a Youtube channel called ‘Saapattu Raman’ and was taken into custody for treating patients without having a medical degree.

The 60-year YouTuber used to treat patients including those with coronavirus symptoms despite he does not possess a professional medical degree. According to reports, YouTuber Porchezhiyan used to run a clinic in Koogayur village near Chinnasalem. After receiving a complaint against him, police raided the clinic. Used syringes, medicines, tablets and injections were recovered from the clinic. The Youtuber did not have permission to stock or use these items.

Porchezhiyan had a Bachelor of Electro-homeopathy Medicine and Surgery (BEMS). He doesn't own the necessary qualification to treat patients.

The health department officials have sealed his clinic and a complaint has been lodged against him with Kellkuppam police for quackery.
