Several areas in Jalandhar are set to face power outages today as the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) undertakes essential maintenance and upgrade work on key substations and power feeders. The electricity supply will remain suspended for extended hours in multiple localities, affecting both households and industries.
As per the official announcement, the 66 kV substations located at Focal Point-1 and Focal Point-2 will remain shut between 9 AM and 5 PM. This will result in the disconnection of supply from seven major feeders, namely Baba Vishwakarma, Water Supply, New Laxmi, New Con, Vivekananda, and Gurudwara Shiv Nagar. Areas under these feeders include Focal Point Industries, Atam Valabh Industries, and their adjoining neighborhoods.
In addition to this, power supply will also be affected due to ongoing work on the 66 kV Tanda Road feeder and the 132 kV Kahnpur–Jalandhar feeder. Electricity in these regions will remain off from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Further, the 11 kV New Estate Feeder will undergo pole installation work, leading to a temporary outage from 11 AM to 1 PM. Maintenance work is also scheduled at the 11 kV Punjabi Bagh feeder, where electricity supply may be interrupted during the day depending on the progress of the work.

The PSPCL has advised residents and businesses to remain informed and plan their day accordingly. Power will be restored once the maintenance and upgrade works are completed.
