Punjab Cabinet Expansion: 5 ministers dropped, 7 new faces inducted, swearing-in ceremony at 4:30 pm tomorrow

After almost three meetings with Party High Command in Delhi in last four days, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has finalised the names for the new cabinet. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 4.30 pm on Sunday in Chandigarh.


Punjab CM Channi has met the Governor of Punjab at Raj Bhawan Banwarilal Purohit in Chandigarh this afternoon to submit the names of new ministers likely to be part of new cabinet and who will take oath tomorrow.


As per information, the new faces likely to be inducted into the cabinet include- Pargat Singh, Raj Kumar Verka, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Kuljit Singh Nagra and Rana Gurjit.


Meanwhile, the Ministers who retained their cabinet berths include- Manpreet Singh Badal, Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Aruna Chaudhary, Razia Sultana, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Vijay Inder Singla, Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Tript Rajinder Bajwa.

Besides, five of Captain Amarinder close aides have lost their cabinet seats. The ministers who have been reportedly dropped include - Sunder Sham Arora, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Rana Gurmit Sodhi and Gurpreet Singh Kangar.
