Sweltering heat has engulfed North India, including Punjab, as states have been witnessing intense summer for the past few days. As per IMD Chandigarh, the highest temperature of 47.6°C was recorded in Bathinda yesterday, which was five degrees Celsius above normal. The temperature of most of the cities of the state remained above 43°C. Today, a heat wave alert has been issued in 18 districts. At the same time, 45°C was recorded in Jalandhar. Now, it seems like people of Jalandhar will have to endure even more heat in the district.

As per AccuWeather, the maximum temperature in Jalandhar on Wednesday, i.e., June 11, is expected to touch 49°C. While writing, the weather forecast website stated that Jalandhar is witnessing 46°C, but the weather feels like 48°C.

Due to the scorching heat, there is silence on the roads during the afternoon. The Meteorological Department has predicted a heatwave from June 11 to 13 in multiple districts of Punjab. An orange alert has also been issued regarding this. However, the Meteorological Department says that the weather may change from June 14. During this time, there may be thunderstorms and light rain. At the same time, 40 degrees were recorded in Jalandhar in the morning itself.
Due to the scorching heat, the markets were found empty in the Shekha Bazaar Market at 11 am. Whereas in Jalandhar, temperatures ranging from 43° to 45° are being recorded daily. Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Dr. Raj Kumar Badan said that a heat wave is going on daily from 12 pm to 4 pm. People should not go out without any work. If someone has very important work, then only they should go out. Whenever you go out, women should wear caps on their heads and tie a scarf. He said that water should be drunk in excess quantity.

As per AccuWeather, the temperature in Amritsar is expected to hit 48°C today, Mohali- 46°C, Ludhiana- 48°C, Bathinda- 45°C, Hoshairpur- 50°C, etc.
