Punjab Police announces Rs 10 Lakh reward for information on gangster Jaipal, his aides

The Punjab Police on Sunday registered the case on the complaint of Punjab Home Guard Jawan Rajwinder Singh who was present on the spot when the two ASIs were shot dead.

The Punjab Police on Monday announced Rs 10 lakh reward for information leading to the arrest of Gangster Jaipal and his aides, who are accused for murder of two Punjab ASIs at New Grain Market in Jagraon on Saturday.

Police have registered a murder case against Jaipal of Ferozepur, Baljinder Singh of Moga, Jaspreet Singh of Kharar and Darshan Singh of Ludhiana, who reportedly managed to flee from the spot after shooting the two ASIs.

In his version, Home Guard Rajwinder said that on Saturday evening, he along with ASI Bhagwan Singh and ASI Dalwinderjit Singh were on their routine patrolling when they saw two men coming out from a car to hand over a suspicious suitcase to the occupants of a canter which was parked beneath the shed at the New Grain Market.

He said they then went towards the canter and asked the occupants to show their identity proofs and in the same time, ASI Bhagwan Singh identified the man sitting in the canter was gangster Jaipal Ferozepuria. However, by the time we could think of anything, Jaipal took hold of the ASI and fired at him from close range.

He further said that after listening to the gunshots, ASI Dalwinderjit tried to flee but the gangster also shot at him from behind and he fell down.

Meanwhile, the Punjab police after the incident are working round the clock and different police parties have been deployed across the state to nab the gangsters.
