Punjab Police warns citizens against Pakistan-backed disinformation amid rising border tensions

A major update has been shared by the Punjab Police amid the increasing tensions between India and Pakistan. The officials of Punjab Police have asked the citizens and residents to remain ‘cautious’ about disinformation, which is widely spreading across the country and the state during such a crucial and tough situation. 

According to the update shared by Punjab Police, Pakistan has been trying to spread fake news and disinformation through social media. Expectedly, their aim behind this action could be to create panic and confusion among the civilians of India. 

Punjab Police shared this information through their social media platform. The message by the authorities read, “BE AWARE OF DISINFORMATION! Pakistani social media accounts are spreading fake news to create panic and confusion in India.

It further mentioned, “Do NOT believe or share unverified content. Spreading misinformation can be dangerous and irresponsible.

Along with this, the police officials urged the civilians to verify before you share, follow only official sources, and to stay calm, stay alert.
