The Punjab Chief Minister issued a serious warning to all unions, organizations, and protest groups that any protests using road blockades, train halts, or harassment of the public will be dealt with severe legal action.
The notification made in the interest of Punjab's hardworking population clearly indicates that peaceful protests are a democratic right, but anything that interferes with day-to-day life, traffic, or public services is not acceptable.
"All unions and organizations are encouraged to protest in peaceful and responsible ways about their concerns. Harassing the public is not protest; it is an injustice," was stated by the chief minister.
Citizens in Punjab have expressed approval of the decision, looking forward to peaceful routines and safer journeys in the face of civil unrest.
